My signature style massage is akin to meditation. It is truly beautiful to share and a
superb approach to relaxation. Here's what happens:
Firstly, I encourage you to breath deeply but naturally - there are no complex breathing
techniques to master. This helps to relax tense muscles and enables me work closely with your breathing pattern.
The initial state of the massage is
performed at close proximity. By synchronising my breathing to yours, my movements are experienced as natural and unobtrusive.
I begin at the very base of your spine, the coccygeal plexus, and progress to the top of your neck, the cervical plexus.
I loosen muscular tension, release nerve pathways and maintain synchronicity with your body's rhythms.
This is a very empathetic and connected process which promotes mental and emotional release so that a state of deep, but lucid, relaxation occurs.
Next, once a state of deep relaxation is achieved and the body is responsive and receptive,
I work again over your back.
I perform movements in an developing pattern. In the absence of the initial tension and muscle fatigue the effect is similar to the telling of a story.
The massage and your responses, mental, emotional and physical, evolve in unison.
I do not speak during the massage yet the process is similar to guided visualisation in that I am
subtly offering your body, and by extension your mind, direction.
The strokes, movements and tempo engage and captivate the imagination so that the mind is able to effortlessly turn inwards and explore itself without boundaries.
This is meditation - there is no rule that states you have to visualise yourself in garden or by the sea in order to meditate.
Finally, I continue to work on your legs and feet whilst you experience your inner space.
As well as feeling wonderful, the shift away from close proximity massage provides time for you to explore and expand your meditative state in your own way, with less direction from me.
